Kuciak’s murder is the second in the last five months of an investigative journalist specializing in high-level corruption in the European Union. On Oct. 17, Daphne Caruana Galizia was killed by a car bomb in Malta. Jan Kuciak, a 27-year-old reporter for online news portal aktuality.sk, was found dead Sunday alongside Martina Kusnirova at their home in the town of Velka Maca, about 40 miles from the Slovak capital, Bratislava. Police believe they were murdered sometime between Thursday and Sunday, when their bodies were discovered after family members became concerned that the couple could not be reached. This is Muhammad Najem. According to his Twitter account he's a 15-year-old boy living in Eastern Ghouta, Syria. Najem posts videos, in both Arabic and English, full of desperate pleas for an end to bombing in the place where he was born and raised. Agata Burdonova, 31, was an English-language specialist who worked as a manager at the IRA, according to TV Rain , an independent Russian news agency that has broken a number of stories about the IRA. She moved to Bellevue, Washington, on Dec. 7, and has thoroughly documented her move on her social media accounts. She has posted pictures of her boarding pass and Russian passport, a selfie with her husband at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, and photos of Seattle’s Space Needle, a suburban American neighborhood, and several Washington parks.
